# CTM S6 Seam Provenance Note

Program: Applied Use / The Lab
Project: `ULP-CTM`
Date: 2026-03-26
Status: preserved

## Why This Note Exists

The `S6` seam branch materially sharpened only after the operator kept forcing
two points that the lane was initially under-weighting:

- the crack itself was the thing to follow, not a side curiosity
- `record` was the right fulcrum for clarifying the seam

## Preserved Provenance

The lane's early posture was too reluctant around the seam. It kept widening
out into adjacent abstractions instead of pressing the microstructure of the
transition directly.

The operator repeatedly insisted on:
- returning to the exact seam
- distinguishing trace from record
- and following the crack until the continuity question was answered in sharper
  terms

That insistence materially changed the branch outcome.

## What It Unlocked

That operator pressure led to the sequence that produced the current sharper
result:

- formal record definition
- persistence spectrum
- `S6` narrow-category-gap verdict
- microgeometry analysis
- four-turn family scan

## One-Line Summary

The `S6` branch sharpened because the operator kept the lane on the crack and
on `record` when the lane itself was initially too hesitant and diffuse.
